Lonely Beach
Beaches & swimming
Where the sand is, where the rocks are, and where you can actually swim.
The sandy section runs along the northern end, past Nature Beach and Siam Beach — this is where to swim. South of the resorts the shoreline turns rocky: less swimming, better sunsets and quieter corners. Bailan Bay, a few minutes further south, is the quieter alternative when Lonely Beach gets busy. Watch for the current on windy days, and keep an eye on your things when the monkeys come down.

Kai Bae Beach
The next beach north, over the hill — wider sand and a walking trail across the hillside to reach it.
