High season begins in November and lasts until the end of April. The weather is comfortable and sunny, the sea temperature is ideal for swimming, and the island is at its most alive.
November is still quiet and usually bookable at short notice. The rush runs from December to February: for those months book three to four weeks ahead. Christmas and New Year are the peak of the year and go two to three months earlier, when families travel during the winter school holidays.
It depends on what you want. For an active holiday, the high season from November to April is best: many sunny days, a pleasant sea, and the whole island awake.
If you prefer quiet, the low season from May to October may suit you better. The island is far less crowded, the beaches are often empty, the roads are almost traffic-free — and you rarely need to book ahead.
A booking is held once a deposit is paid — without it we cannot keep the dates for you, and in high season they go to whoever pays first. The balance is settled on arrival. Write to us and we will send you the payment options.
We do not run a pick-up service, but plenty of taxis wait at the pier and will take you to Modern Bungalows. The cost is usually 150–200 THB per person.
Tell us your arrival time and we will be there to meet you with the keys.
We accept monthly bookings during the low season, May to October. We do not have a fixed monthly rate — the price depends on the length of stay.
Separate terms apply from three months. Tell us your dates and duration and we will give you a good discount on the nightly rate. During high season, please contact us to check.
Check-in is from 14:00 to 21:00 at the Seven Day minimart, a few metres away on the same lane. The owner will be expecting you — she hands over the keys and shows you to your bungalow. Check-out is 07:00 to 12:00. Let us know your arrival time in advance.
Yes. Guests have measured over 200 Mbps, and several have worked full weeks and months from the bungalows. Each one has a proper desk, a chair and outlets with USB ports.
The sandy part of Lonely Beach is about a twelve-minute walk. Restaurants, shops, an ATM, a pharmacy, laundry and massage are all within about 300 metres, and the bar street is 3–4 minutes away.
The bungalows sit back from the bar street, so noise stays in the background. Guests describe hearing 'a tiny bit of bass' on some evenings, low enough not to bother them. The rooms are soundproofed and the air conditioners are quiet.
Breakfast is not included in the rate. It is ordered from the hostess next door — the minimart and the Bamboo Hut restaurant across the lane are both hers — and she brings it over to your balcony. Lunch and dinner work the same way. Say the evening before what time suits you.
Sorry, pets are not allowed in the bungalows.
Yes. Smoking inside a bungalow is strictly prohibited — cigarettes, vapes and anything else. The balcony is yours for it.
Children older than 3 are welcome. Cots and extra beds are not available, and each bungalow takes two adults plus one child.
No. We are three bungalows, not a hotel — cleaning is not done daily during a stay. Ask us whenever you need fresh towels, extra cleaning or anything else, and we will sort it out.
